Vikas joined Chi Lab in 2025 as a Postdoctoral Fellow. Prior to this, he worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory, USA (2023–2025), focusing on electrical transport measurements and proximity detector oscillations under extreme high magnetic fields. He earned his PhD in 2023 from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), India, where he specialized in synthesizing and characterizing topological single crystals. As an experimentalist, he developed extensive hands-on expertise in crystal growth, materials characterization, and transport measurements, while also performing density functional theory calculations to complement and interpret experimental results. His current research focuses on uncovering and understanding topological phases through a combination of advanced experimental techniques and theoretical modeling. Outside of research, Vikas enjoys Python programming and digital drawing.
